Onboarding That Inspires

Starting a new job can be a nerve-wracking experience for many. I am thrilled to share reflections from my recent onboarding experience with the BecomeMore Group that has left me feeling energized, inspired, and incredibly fortunate to be joining such a dynamic team! From day one, this onboarding experience was not just a standard process to get familiar with company policies or set up my computer, it was a well-thought-out, engaging introduction to an environment that has nurtured both professional and personal growth for many clients and business partners.

The Power of a Smart, Talented Team

What stood out the most to me was the team I was joining. The people at BecomeMore Group are not only experts in their fields but also approachable and eager to collaborate. During my first week, I was introduced to key team members, and it became immediately clear that I was surrounded by some of the brightest minds in the industry. Each person on the BecomeMore team has a unique perspective, and everyone is clearly passionate about the work we’re doing. This is no ordinary workplace—this team has co-created a vibrant hub of optimization, growth, and development.

One of the things I value most is continuous learning, and I quickly realized this is a key focus for everyone on the team. The onboarding process was structured to ensure I had the resources and support I needed to get up to speed, but it also encouraged me to dive deep and learn beyond the basics. Whether it was through immersive training sessions, like Green Belt, or attending the dynamic experience of Extreme Facilitation, every opportunity was designed to expand my skill sets and knowledge. In addition, I personally enjoyed seeing what other facilitators do in action that truly sets BecomeMore Group apart.

I particularly appreciated the mentorship that was built into the onboarding process and led by Scott Burgmeyer, CEO and co-founder of BecomeMore Group. Scott has been very patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in my growth and that has been an invaluable part of my onboarding experience. Scott not only helped me navigate the technical aspects of the role but also provided insights into the company culture, the team dynamics, and the bigger picture of our goals and vision. Having someone with his caliber of leadership and development skills to guide me through the onboarding process made the transition smooth, yet very impactful.

Collaboration and Feedback: The Key to Growth

The BecomeMore team places an emphasis on collaboration and open feedback which has been another highlight of my onboarding experience. It became clear to me very early on that this team values transparency and communication to ensure success. One example is the way the entire team has made a commitment to use feedback as a tool for growth. Regular debriefs happen amongst the team that only reinforces strong communication and our commitment to growth. A regular BecomeMore Group Debrief consists of 3 simple questions:

  1. What went well?
  2. What did not go well?
  3. What would you do differently?

This provides the team with a quick framework to reflect, assess progress AND identify areas for improvement. It is easy to see that everyone on the team feels supported in sharing this level of detail to learn from our experiences collectively. This nod to transparency and the process of leveraging feedback for growth has already provided me with great learning opportunities.

A Journey That’s Just Beginning

Looking back on my first few months, I am filled with gratitude for the thoughtful onboarding experience that has made me feel both challenged and supported. Joining a team of incredibly smart and talented individuals has been a wonderful experience so far, and I know that I am just getting started with many opportunities ahead.

This experience has reminded me of the power of a great onboarding process—not just to get someone up to speed but to truly set a team member up for long-term success. In such a short amount of time, I’ve gained invaluable skills, co-created meaningful connections, and developed a deep respect for the team I’m now a part of.

As I continue this journey, I look forward to contributing my own unique talents, learning from my colleagues, and growing both personally and professionally. The sky’s the limit with this team, and I am excited to see where this adventure takes us ALL in Becoming More!
